Yu-Ming Tang graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Queensland (1997), and trained in radiology at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane and the Gold Coast Hospital. He then completed a fellowship in MRI and cross-sectional intervention, with an emphasis on neuroradiology, body and musculoskeletal radiology. He has also completed further visiting fellowships in body & musculoskeletal MRI in USA.

His subspecialty interests areas include musculoskeletal imaging (sports medicine) and intervention, and more recently in Pelvic MRI. He is accredited by the SCCT (USA) and Australian Conjoint Committee for Cardiac CT.

Yu-Ming is one of only a few Australian radiologists with first-author publications in both the American Journal of Roentgenology (AJR) and American Journal of Neuroradiology (AJNR). He also has publications in the Australasian Radiology, Skeletal Radiology and Spinal Cord.

He has presented at several conferences, including RANZCR Annual Scientific meetings and Symposium Neuroradiologicum and was awarded the diagnostic imaging prize for Best Radiology Research Paper, at the RANZCR Annual Scientific Meeting, in 2005.

Yu-Ming has been actively involved in teaching radiology registrars and medical practitioners, and also regularly presents at local medical meetings and conferences.

Yu-Ming enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, including tennis, cycling and golf. He and his family enjoy travel especially cruises.
