Adam Tonakie graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Queensland in 1986 and worked as a General Practitioner and RMO at the North West Private Hospital, Brisbane, before returning to the Mater Public Hospital to complete his radiology training in 1997.

Adam moved to the US to complete a Fellowship in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical Centre, Ann Arbor, Michigan. He returned to Australia to join South Coast Radiology in 1999.

Adam is a qualified Nuclear Medicine Specialist and his subspecialty interest areas include nuclear medicine oncology and cardiac imaging.

Married with four children, Adam loves to travel and enjoys a variety of sports.
