Community

Community matters at South Coast Radiology. As the Gold Coast’s leader in diagnostic medical imaging services and one of the largest and longest standing Radiology organisations in South East Queensland, it’s not just our size and scope that matter, we have a proud history of creating and delivering value to the surrounding community.

South Coast Radiology’s Community Initiatives

Since 1967, South Coast Radiology has put our patients first, with the belief that everybody counts. With this ethos in mind, our dedication to the Gold Coast community’s health extends beyond our world-class medical imaging services and we’re always looking for ways to give back. Therefore, we take an active role in community engagement and causes close to the heart of Gold Coasters.

Alongside our educational programs for medical professionals, we support various causes with charitable donations and contributions. These include the Mother’s Day Classic, Pink Ribbon Raceday, Burleigh in Pink and the Cherish Women’s Cancer Foundation.

The Mother’s Day Classic is an event held every Mother’s Day to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer, with participants across Australia entering. Since its inception, the Mother’s Day Classic has raised significant funds and awareness for breast cancer. Over the years, it has become a cherished tradition for families across the country to take part in. This event brings together thousands of participants, both men and women, of all ages, to walk or run in support of breast cancer research.

South Coast Radiology and our dedicated Women’s Imaging Centre are proud sponsors of the Gold Coast event, with our team donating to the cause and dressing up in pink for the day.

The Pink Ribbon Cup Raceday, held annually at the Gold Coast Turf Club’s event centre, is Australia’s largest fundraiser in the community and sponsored by South Coast Radiology. It combines the excitement of horse racing with the important cause of raising funds and awareness for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).

Attendees come together dressed in pink, creating a vibrant and united atmosphere while enjoying a thrilling day.

Burleigh in Pink is a community group that comes together every October. Organisations and businesses in Burleigh Heads, including South Coast Radiology, come together to work towards Burleigh in Pink’s aim – raising funds for breast cancer research and support services. At our Burleigh practice, we support Burleigh in Pink’s mission towards making a difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer by turning our practice pink for a week in October.

The Cherish Women’s Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit charity based in Brisbane with a focus on empowering women with knowledge and resources to navigate their journey through cancer with strength and resilience. Cherish’s mission is to generate funding for research and clinical trials that could find kinder ways to treat women who have gynaecological cancer. Additionally, they provide support services to enhance the quality of life of women impacted by gynaecological cancers.

Movember is a global charity movement taking place every November. It aims to raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues. At South Coast Radiology, our participants grow moustaches or engage in physical challenges to spark conversations and drive donations. By addressing critical health concerns such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s mental health, Movember has become a transformative force in promoting the wellbeing of men across Australia.

Our Community Sponsorships

In addition to these causes, we also support a variety of community groups across the Gold Coast, Mackay and the Darling Downs. These include:
