Frequently Asked Questions
Your doctor may have referred you for a Brain MRI to help investigate headaches, dizziness, seizures, memory issues, or neurological changes. MRI provides highly detailed images of the brain, making it the most sensitive method for detecting subtle abnormalities.
No special preparation is usually required. You may eat and drink normally unless advised otherwise. Remove any metal items, jewellery, or hair accessories before your scan.
You’ll lie on a padded table with your head positioned in the scanner. The scan is painless and takes about 30–45 minutes. You’ll hear loud knocking sounds, and ear protection will be provided. If contrast is required, it will be given via a small IV injection.
Please let us know when booking. We can arrange support or mild sedation (if approved by your doctor) to ensure your comfort.
Your results are typically available within 24–48 hours and sent directly to your referring doctor.
