Dr Angus Watts

Graduating from the School of Medicine at University of Queensland, Angus went on to complete 3 years of residency at the Gold Coast Hospital including a year of Emergency Medicine, and spent a year in General Practice in Brisbane. He completed his 5 years of Radiology training at Royal Brisbane Hospital, including Fellowships in interventional radiology and musculoskeletal imaging, then moved to the Gold Coast to join South Coast Radiology in 2004, becoming a partner in 2006. Angus is currently Managing Partner for the practice, and has been involved in management and marketing for a number of years. His subspecialty interest areas include musculoskeletal MRI and interventional radiology.
Angus is actively involved in medical education on the Gold Coast, having served as a Senior Lecturer at Griffith University, and is a regular presenter at medical education meetings including the Gold Coast Division of General Practice, Pindara Hospital and SCR Radiology Education Meetings. He has also been a presenter at the Australasian College of Radiology National Scientific Convention and has had research published in Australasian Radiology.
A rugby tragic, Angus has an active interest in a variety of sports, currently playing competitive seniors rugby with Currumbin Alleygators, occasional touch football, and is a keen surfer, having surfed numerous exotic breaks around the globe in his travels. He is a keen skier and photographer, and enjoys spending quality downtime with his two beautiful daughters.
