Government eases elective surgery restrictions

The Australian Government eases elective surgery restrictions.

From Tuesday 28 April, elective surgery will be reintroduced in a staged and controlled manner, to balance patient needs and the ongoing need for capacity to treat COVID-19 patients.

Procedures include: Joint replacements of the knees, hips and shoulders, IVF, Endoscopy and Colonoscopy, screening and post cancer reconstruction, and procedures for children under 18 years of age.
